Frank Howell was born in Sydney in 1952, the youngest of seven children. From a very early age he has enjoyed creating and making things, building his first bike at age 10 from pieces he found at the tip.
Howell has been a decorative arts dealer for 30 years trading from his Queen Street Woollahra premises. This has contributed to his development, appreciation and understanding for good proportion and design.
Howell has been successful in designing and making everything by hand himself, often learning other skills along the way. For example, making silicon moulds, welding and gilding. Recently he even produced a video on how the great pyramids were built.
Assemblages is another facet of his inquisitive mind and creative ingenuity.
